Brushing and Flossing for Christmas

I love the Christmas Season.  Many people call it the holiday season, but it is all focused around Christmas for me and my family.  We bring in so much love from visiting family and friends and simply being together.  It is a great time to connect and to reconnect with those that we may have lost along the way.  It is a time for healing, love, and forgiveness. And it is also a time for our teeth to generally take a dive down to unhealthy.  It is a time where many of us eat too much and drink too many sugary or alcoholic drinks.  It is a time where many of us put off this season as good time to forget our healthy habits in order to enjoy the company of others.  This can be a big problem come January.  It is a time that can cost tons of money and bring a whole lot of pain if you are not being nice and living the notty life.  So I want to go over a few things that we can all do to help keep our mouths safer and more healthy this wonderful time of year.

Now for myself there is one habit that I normally don’t do during the year, but really try to implement on a daily basis during December and January and that is flossing.  The old version of flossing is still around.  You can get flossing string and wrap it around your fingers cutting off circulation and go at your mouth like a crazy person.  I hate flossing with the old floss and style.  But luckily there is an incredible way to floss in 2020 and that is through dental flossing sticks.

These sticks are plastic and look like baby forks.  They have a piece of string in between the forks and a toothpick on the back end.  It is mint floss flavored and allows you to not have to touch your entire mouth to floss in between teeth.  It is a great and easy way to get food particles out that you never even knew were there.  If you are eating a lot of meat and popcorn teh toothpick can help as well to get those tough things out.  I really enjoy using these because they keep those tooth decaying food particles from eating away at my teeth.

Now another great thing to do this year is to step up your brushing game.  Brushing your teeth three times a day is what I suggest during the holiday season.  This allows you to protect your mouth from bad particles by brushing them away and keeping a nice amount of a toothpaste protective layer on your teeth.  I also like the third brushing to be a whitening brush as well.

My night brushing is a charcoal whitening toothpaste which allows me to not only protect my teeth but to brighten them during this season.  It is a great way to cut down on dental costs in January and to look good while doing it. Normally this just means that I pick up one extra tub of toothpaste and it keeps me safer and gives me a better smile for holiday photos for a few bucks during the month. This is a totally win for me and I think you should give it a try!
