And in the case of glass ionomer, make the teeth wet. Then, make sure you are covering all the teeth and making them shine. To control the decay, you need to apply and cover the entire jaw. You will have to paste the sticky substance on the inner sides of the teeth as well. Now, the dentist needs to harden the surface. For this aim, they can use their fingers or a small tool. Usually, hands are enough to harden the solution. But, in a few cases, they use a UV light to fix the sealant. The setting takes a few minutes. However, a patient should open the mouth until the solution gets dry. The setting will take 15 to 20 minutes.
